Five Steps to Throwing a Successful Apartment Warming Party

So you have just moved into your new apartment and you are finally settled in.  Now that you are settled into your new place, many of your friends and family members have been asking to come and see your new home.  At our apartments in Fort Myers, FL, we offer spacious layouts that make hosting small gatherings and having friends over an easy situation.  However, you still want to follow the right steps to avoid angering the neighbors and still making sure you throw a great first housewarming party.  There are a few steps to follow to throw a great apartment-warming party.

Keep the Guest List Short

Don't get too ambitious when you finally choose to have the party at your apartment.  Keep the guest list short so that you aren't too overwhelmed the first time.  By keeping the guest list short, you will avoid taking on too much when you are hosting people.

Move Your Furniture

You may need to rearrange your furniture to make room for folding tables or chairs that you'll need to give everyone a place to eat.   Consider putting your couch up against the wall to create walkways and establish flow in your space.  Utilizing the space you have is easier when you consider different furniture layouts that are conducive to hosting a party.

Prepare Food in Advance

To avoid being in the kitchen the whole time and causing more messes in an already tight space, prepare as much food in advance as possible.  Consider dishes that you can make ahead so that you can prep the food, clean the dishes, and put away any messes before company even arrives.  Not only will this allow you to have more fun at your own party, but it will also give you more kitchen space to serve your food.

Declutter Kitchen Counters

When people are at parties, they love to crowd around the counters in the kitchen, catching up and snacking on food.  Consider using the counter space to serve your guests so that you can maximize space for eating at the table.  If you have limited counter space, you can also remove any appliances, like toasters and coffee makers, which you won't be using for that specific party.

Create Flow

Using a series of small folding tables can also help you increase the space for people to dine without having to use large tables that may not fit in your apartment.  By creating mini dining areas, you provide everyone with a more intimate place to enjoy their meal.  This may also create more flow at your party, as they can eat and then get up to mingle around the apartment.

These are just a few of the tips to follow when you hosting friends and family in your new apartment.  When you move into our beautiful apartments in Fort Myers, FL, you will certainly want to show off your new place.  Contact The Robert to hear more about our available luxury apartments and schedule your tour today.
